Notice is hereby given that the next meeting of the Westwood Parish Council will be held in the Parish Room on

Monday 7 February 2011 at 7.30pm




1.       Welcome and Introductions.

The Chairman to welcome those present.


2.       Apologies.

To receive apologies for non-attendance.


3.       Minutes of the Ordinary Parish Council Meeting held on 10 January 2011.

To agree, and sign, the minutes of the meeting as an accurate record.


4.       Adjournment.

The Meeting will adjourn for members of the public present to raise any points of interest on any matter.

The meeting will then re-convene.


5.       Westwood Road Safety.

a.       Cllr. Bishop to provide a report on the current position - especially in relation to the Joint Meetings with Wiltshire Council - and to report on the progress of the ’Westwood 20 mph Speed Limit Trial’.

b.       To note and to agree requests (if any) for the Parish Council to provide key elements of this trial.

c.       To note the progress of the Community Grant application.


6.       Neighbourhood Policing.

a.       To invite the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) to report on any matters of concern.

b.       To advise the NPT of any matter that needs to be brought to its attention.


7.       Bradford on Avon Community Area Board.

a.       To note any matters relevant to Westwood raised at the Community Area Board meeting held on 19 January 2011.

b.       To agree any matters that need to be raised at the next Area Board meeting.


8.       Sub-Committees.

a.              To note the status of extant planning applications:




West Chapel

Erection of Partition Wall to second floor bedroom to form new en-suite bathroom

b.       To consider any planning applications received after 1 February 2011.


c.       To review any other planning matters.



New Planning Applications are available for public inspection immediately prior to the Parish Council meeting.




a.       To receive a report from the Cemetery sub-Committee on current key issues.

b.       To decide the extent of the pruning required for the cemetery path hedge.



a.              To receive a report from the Clerk on the current financial position.

b.       To agree the payments to be made.

c.       To examine the tenders for the Open Space maintenance contract and to agree the successful tenderer.


Open Spaces.

a.       To receive a report from Open Spaces sub-Committee on current key issues.

b.       To note the inspection/maintenance reports for the Play Equipment (January) and to agree any necessary action.



To receive a report from the Environmental sub-Committee on current key issues.



To review the Footpath sub-Committee Rights of Way Survey results (January).


9.       Community Engagement Public Consultation.

To receive a report from Cllrs. Johnston and Biles following the analysis of the results of this consultation.


10.     Valley Parishes Alliance.

a.       Cllr. Edwards to report to the Council on current developments.

b.       To endorse the actions taken by Cllr. Edwards under delegated authority from Westwood Parish Council in respect of decisions by the VPA.


11.     Date of Parish Council Meeting.

a.       To note the date of the next Parish Council Meeting:    Monday 7 March 2011 at 7.30 pm.

b.       To agree the date for the Annual Parish Meeting.


12.     Any Other Business.

Exchange of views on matters not requiring a decision.


·     To note the progress in seeking a new member for the existing Parish Council vacancy.
