Notice is hereby given that the next meeting of the Westwood Parish Council will be held the Parish Room, Farleigh Lane, Westwood on Monday 11 October 2021 at 7.30pm.


This meeting will strictly observe the extant regulations regarding COVID-19 Security which may include maintaining social distancing, hand cleansing, face coverings and imposing a limit on the number of persons occupying the Parish Room.


 Public Participation (at 7.30pm) - Prior to the commencement of the formal Parish Council meeting, members of the public will be given the opportunity to make any representations that they wish the Parish Council to note.


 1.           Apologies.

To receive and to accept apologies for non-attendance.

 2.           Co-option of a New Member.

a.           To decide whether to co-opt a new member – Elizabeth Clay - as a parish councillor.

b.           To co-opt a new member (subject to the decision at 2a above).

 3.           Declaration of Interests.

Councillors to declare any interests.

 4.           Minutes of the Ordinary Parish Council Meeting held on 6 September 2021.

To agree and sign the minutes of the meeting as an accurate record.

 5.           Wiltshire Council Report.

To receive a report from Wiltshire Council, Cllr. J Kidney.

 6.           Highways and Environmental (including Biodiversity).

a.           To note any proposals from the Westwood Biodiversity Group to increase the biodiversity in Westwood and to decide any action.

b.           To note the request for a Village Pond and to agree how to proceed.

c.           To decide the action to be taken regarding the Westwood Park/Cemetery Tree Survey.

d.           To decide whether to support the request for 117-120 Upper Westwood direction sign.

e.           To identify any specific tasks for the Parish Steward.

f.             To identify any other matters of concern, including the request from a parishioner regarding the Playing Field hedge and to agree any necessary action.

 9.           Cemetery.

To receive a report on the condition of the cemetery and to agree any necessary work.

 10.         Nursery School Building.

a.           To receive a report on the condition of the building.

b.           To decide how to proceed regarding the future use of the building including reviewing any proposals received for its future use.

 11.         Westwood Update & Website.

To review these subjects and to decide any necessary action/changes.

 12.         Footpaths.

To note any concerns and to agree any necessary action.

 13.         Play Area.

a.           To receive a report on the condition of the Play Area.

b.           To note the action taken in respect of the swing seats and the annual RoSPA Safety Inspection.

 14.         Neighbourhood Plan.

To receive a report on the progress of developing a Neighbourhood Plan for Westwood.

 15.         Date of the next meeting.

To note the date for the next Ordinary Meeting of the Parish Council – Monday 1 November 2021.
