There is currently a project underway to improve the Westwood Parish rooms adjacent to the church to create a multi-function facility that can be used for a variety of community uses in a pleasant and picturesque setting. The rooms were originally built at the end of the nineteenth century and are in much need of improvement. There are a number of fundraising activities being organised and involvement from everyone in the Westwood Parish is most welcome.

Parish Rooms update


It was about a year ago that the Parish Rooms were officially re-opened following extensive refurbishment, and what a year it has been.  The Parish Rooms have gone from strength to strength and now boast a wide range of regular activities and lots of one off events having taken place, including our first wedding reception!

Parish Rooms update May 2018

The Parish Rooms are an accessible and local venue and can be booked by contacting Belinda Lawrie on 01225 868371 or by emailing us westwoodparishrooms@gmail.com.  We can also be contacted via Twitter @westwood_pr or via Facebook @westwoodparishrooms follow us on social media to keep up to date on what is happening and to receive updates.

There are now a number of regular activities and one off events taking place that you can take part in, including yoga, Pilates, Zumba, art and craft workshops and a regular parent and toddler group during term time.  There are also other events coming soon, such as a new 6 week art course which starts on 8th June and a “Wonders of Wool Crafternoon” on 30th June.  Please visit our website for more information and to make contact with the organisers.

Parish Rooms update Apr 2018

Do you need a great local venue with catering facilities for your family event or party?

Are you looking for a fully accessible space in Westwood to run an activity or club?

.successful Community Lunches for people living in the Westwood area.    The final Lunch this spring takes place on Wednesday 28.3.18 so drop in from 12.30 until 2.00pm for some homemade soup and a roll for only £2.00.

From the beginning of April, afternoon teas will start again on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays from 2pm to 5pm so come along and enjoy some homemade fayre and, weather permitting, enjoy it on our south facing terrace!    Westwood Parish Room Trustees

Parish Rooms update Feb/Mar 2018

The Parish Rooms is a great local venue with modern, accessible facilities and is available for your parties, events or clubs. Since the start of 2018, a yoga course and a new regular parent and toddler group has started!

In November the Parish Rooms hosted a successful Community Drop in Lunch for people living in the Westwood area.    The next Lunch takes place on Wednesday 31.1.18 from 12.30 until 2.00pm. You will be able to drop in, meet local people and enjoy some homemade soup and other refreshments for only £2.00.  Further Lunches are planned for 28th February and 28th March at the same time.

The Parish Rooms are run by local people on behalf of the village we are always seeking volunteers to help support the day to day management of the building. If you have a few hours to spare occasionally and have any electrical, plumbing, building, maintenance or DIY skills, we’d love to hear from you!

A date for your diary!  On Wednesday 29th November we will be holding a Community Drop in Lunch for anyone living in the Westwood area.    From 12.30 until 2.00pm you will be able to drop in, meet local people and enjoy some homemade soup and other refreshments for only £2.00.  We hope to make this a monthly event over the winter months.
