Another busy and exciting few weeks have passed at Westwood
with Iford School and our run up to Christmas is about to begin. Please join us
for our Christmas Fair on Saturday 3rd December at school. There will be plenty
of festive cheer to get you in the Christmas mood.
If you haven’t yet tuned in, Westwood Radio - radio.westwoodwithiford.org has
successfully launched and broadcasts live every Friday in term time at 2.30pm.
With weekly community news and interviews, there is something for everyone.
This issue we are also asking whether any members of our
fantastic community are interested in joining our school Governing Body. As a
successful, innovative school, we are looking for additional governors to
expand our successful Governing Body, in order to fully support and oversee the
school as it continues to move forward with clear vision and direction.
We meet once a term and would very much welcome new members. If
you are interested, we would be delighted to give you more information and you
can contact our Chair, Sean Wyartt by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
or the school office at email@example.com.
Have a great Christmas!

Friends of Westwood School (FoWS) Christmas Fayre - Saturday 3rd December 2016.
We are delighted to announce that our annual Christmas Fayre is taking place on Saturday 3rd December 2016 between 2 and 4:30PM.
Entry is just £2.50 for adults including a free drink. Children go free!
We have a wide range of festive activities, including Santa's Grotto, very reasonably priced beverages, amazing raffle prizes as well as stalls selling homemade gifts and produce.
The Fayre has been very well supported by our local community in recent years.
All of our fundraising activities create valuable funds to provide additional equipment and activities that enhance the children's learning.
Please do come along and soak up the Christmas atmosphere.

On behalf of the staff, governors, children and parents, a big
welcome back from all of us here at Westwood
We are already into the swing of our teaching and learning,
having welcomed our new Reception children, who are all enjoying themselves.
This week they join us full time and we have been so impressed with how quickly
they have settled.
If you know of anyone who has children starting next September,
we will be holding our Open Morning on
Tuesday 27th September from 9am - 12pm.
This is an open invitation for prospective parents to come along and see the
school in action.
As a school we are proud to be innovative in our teaching and
learning. I am delighted to announce that we have secured funding to develop
Westwood Radio, an online radio station run by the children for our community.
Watch this space for how you can get involved!
We have also recently learnt that we have been shortlisted for
a Tesco Bags of Help Grant to develop our school field for healthy and exciting
play. Please vote for our project in your local Tesco store from 26th September
to secure our funding!
