Friends of Westwood School Update

One again we held our annual Summer Fair on Saturday 7th July.

It was so lovely to see how many people from the local community supported us, as always.

We faced some challenges with the very hot weather and a certain England v Sweden football game!

As well as our ever popular BBQ, other events included Maypole dancing, a very competitive game of Tug of War and local arts and crafts stalls.

We raised an impressive total of £1573.

All of that money is invested directly back into the school to enhance the children's learning and educational experiences.

Thank you for your continued support.

Westwood School update May 2018

Hello again from Westwood School! We have had another busy few weeks with lots to celebrate and report.
Our Oral History Project is gathering tremendous pace and publicity and by half term we will have 6 fabulous interviews on our website, westwoodheritage.uk. Please add your stories too using the website form as we would love to read about your memories and if you would like to get involved, please email heritage@westwoodwithiford.org or follow us @wwiheritage on Twitter.

I must say a huge well done to our brilliant Year 6 children who took their SATs this week and were a credit to the school. As always they worked incredibly hard and we could not be more proud.

Thank you if you have taken the time to listen in to our radio station, Westwood Radio. Our listener figures are booming and we will soon be welcoming back Ben Prater from BBC Wiltshire’s Breakfast Show to broadcast from our playground as part of their Step into Summer campaign! Find out more on radio.westwoodwithiford.org, including all of our shows to listen again.

See you at the Summer Fair on Saturday 7th July!

Westwood with Iford School News

Hello again from a very busy Westwood School! Thank you so much to those of you who attended our recent quiz night. It was a delight to see the hall full of members of our community!

Hopefully you will now be aware that out Oral History Project is up and running and has its own website - westwoodheritage.uk There you will find a fascinating interview with David and Kate Windo about growing up in Westwood. There is also the opportunity to view some old photographs of Kate’s from school days gone by - are you in there anywhere? Plus you can tell us your story or get in touch if you would like to contribute to the project. We will be coming out into the community and even broadcasting live as well, so do keep an eye on our website, our blog heritage.westwoodblogs.org and our Twitter feed @wwiheritage as there will be so much to share over the coming months.  With signs of Spring in the air, we are all looking forward to another wonderful term with lots of community involvement.
