Update for Westwood Football Club.

With the weather disrupting the fixtures our footballers have only played a couple of games this year, but they still lay in second place in the Bath Sunday League league.   With only a few games left it should be an interesting run in with promotion a possibility.

Update for Westwood Football Club.

The new team managed by ex Westwood players Duncan Frew and Sam Gimbert have had an excellent start to the season winning both games at home against teams from Bath by scoring seven and conceding one. They have a tough game away next week against a strong Peasedown side but should be bolstered by the inclusion of a couple of new signings that will strengthen an already capable squad.

Westwood United Football Club

It is with regret that I have to inform everyone that after 30 years of playing I have had to resign the team from the league due to the lack of players.

The management team of Tom Downes and Martin Cowdrey did their utmost to field a team every week but the loss of so many players due to work and family commitments resulted in poor performances and heavy defeats, but a huge vote of thanks must go to Tom and Martin for all their hard work.

One can only hope that a group of players who want to play under the Westwood name will come forward in the near future,  but until then may I thank everyone who has contributed to the running of the football club.

 Derek Downes.

Westwood United FC.

After a good start to this season, several players have unfortunately dropped out due to work commitments and long term injury which resulted in the team  losing  form and heavy defeats and cancellation of a couple of fixtures. The managers are working tirelessly every week to try and compliment the current squad who have a friendly spirit, so if there are any players reading this that would like to have a game of football on a Sunday morning then please get in contact with me, Derek Downes  07976 827488.
